It seems strange that a word so commonly used as "tunnel" has no definition. What constitutes a tunnel? A specific length? Use? Location? Many people think of tunnels being a sheltered passage, twice as long as it is wide. [For the purposes of this blog, that's the definition we'll go with.] For centuries tunnels have been used to transport water, heat, commodities, people and even information.
